Bullying- whose responsibility is it anyway?

It is everyone's responsibility to stop bullying.

All is the adults who play a role in the lives of children with learning disabilities have a responsibility to protect them from bullying.

This includes:

  • teachers
  • classroom assistants
  • parents and carers
  • youth workers
  • bus drivers...

...and everyone else

This resource aims to equip you with the knowledge, skills and confidence you need to deal with the bullying of children with learning disabilities, whenever and wherever it happens.

Sometimes, people need to work together to find a solution to the bullying.

Many children with learning disabilities in Scotland have a Co-ordinated Support Plan. This is a plan between the education authority, social work, health board, parents or carers and anyone else who is involved in the young person's life.

A co-ordinated support plan gives children with learning disabilities additional support. If a child is bullied, the co-ordinated support plan could help the adults to work together.
