About Us

self_advocate.jpgLearning Disability Week 2007 exposed some hard truths about bullying. An ENABLE Scotland report revealed that 93% of children with learning disabilities are bullied. Sadly, 38% said telling an adult made no difference.

We were shocked. We knew that bullying was an issue, but we could not have predicted the scale of the problem. We had to take action.

A very public campaign attracted attention from MSPs, MPs and other organisations and led to a partnership between ENABLE Scotland and respectme, Scotland's anti-bullying service.

The Good News

ENABLE Scotland and respectme have been funded by the LloydsTSB Foundation for Scotland to work in partnership to create this web-resource for adults who play a role in the lives of children with learning disabilities. We want to give adults the skills, knowledge and confidence to take action when bullying happens and take steps to prevent it.

Let's make a difference!
